22 JUN 2008. sharing our story. Last month we were incredibly busy flying around the place sharing our story. We've now presented to over 25,000 people in Australia and New Zealand- we're really enjoying sharing our story and the lessons we have learnt. Being end of financial year, June has been a quiet month on the speaking front, but has given James a great opportunity to get cranking on the book and Justin on the study.

10 JUN 2008. CLIMBING. James has been enjoying getting back up to the Blue Mountains and climbing. In fact, he's pretty much been up there every weekend since they've been back. He heads up in his 1987 Kombi and is starting to climb better than ever- ticked his first grade 27 last weekend! Justin has been busy studying for his exams. He's currently finishing off a Masters of Commerce at UNSW. Understandably, both the boys are finding it pretty hard settling into life after the Tasman.

25 MAY 2008. SUNDAY MAGAZINE FEATURE.Justin Jones and James Castrission were 1600 kilometres from land, in a custombuilt tandem kayak, on their history making
crossing of the Tasman Sea, when terror gripped them. It had nothing to do with the sharks that arrived at dusk. Two of them, one four metres long, the other just two-and-a-half metres, were toying with the paddlers by rubbing their sandpaper-rough bodies under the hull,
bumping the kayak onto an angle.

30 APR 2008. Plaque unveilled at New Plymouth. The folk at New Plymouth continue to overwhelm us with their kind support. We were honored to be part of a ceremony where they unveiled a plaque on the beach where we arrived on January 13 2008. For both of us, it was a teary visit- it stirred so much emotion in us both to be back at the beach. That landing spot will always hold a very special place in our hearts. Thanks Taranaki for the support.

28 APR 2008. Tourism Australia "Spirit of Mateship Award". In Auckland, we attended a Black Tie Dinner, where we were honoured to win the Spirit of Mateship award. Alongside Patrick Brothers (Rush Digital) and Mike Hanning (Trac Plus) we accepted the award. The Spirit of Mateship Award was established in 2006 by Tourism Australia to honour selfless Kiwis and Aussies whose acts are an outstanding example of trans-Tasman mateship.

Congrats to the boys for getting up against the brumbies. Apart from a few dips at the beach, and the occasional shower, going to the game we got as wet as we did on the tasman! we're looking forward to chatting with the guys over the next couple of weeks. www.nswrugby.com.au
