Jessica Watson sets sail!

On Sunday morning an amazingly inspiring 16 year old friend of ours - Jess Watson, jumped on her yacht- Ella's Pink Lady, and set sail out of Sydney. Her goal is to become the youngest person to ever sail to sail solo around the world non-stop and unassisted- this means she'll be out there on the ocean completely by herself for over 8mths.

Since returning from the Tasman, Justin and I have been providing Jess with some mentoring, advice and support. There's been a lot of debate in the media around whether a 16 year old should be permitted to go? From what we've seen, Jess has planned meticulously for her voyage and has maturity way beyond her years- she's going all the way. The SMH reported on some of our views HERE.
